Fashion Questions

For work we had to get some actors to answers these questions. I love this sort of chain question thing so I am going to share my answers with you. Feel free to post with your personal style answers. 

What are the top 3 must haves in your closet for fall? 

-a great pair of black Merino leggings, high heeled black ankle boots, long collared shirt

What’s your go-to outfit?

- opaque tights, a long soft sweater and my doc martens

What’s your go-to  store?

- Aritzia 

Who’s your favorite designer? 

Armani for his mind and Wilfred for their pants (seriously go get some)

Are you effected by trends? Are there any trends at the moment you love or hate? 

- Not really. I usually stick to a Parisian look. I have been shopping for so long when trends come out I simply dig into my closet and pull them out. A current trend I love is the contrast of black and white and animal prints. 

What advice would you give to young women/men trying to find their personal style? 

- Go with your gut and always dress for your body type 

What’s your opinion of fashion magazines? Do you read them?

- Love and read them all the time - especially the Canadian ones like Ella and Fashion. I buy the September issue of Vogue every year. 

What was your favorite style decade? 

- 1960’s

What does style mean to you? 

- style is an artistic expression to the world of who you are or what you are feeling that day. Style is freedom to be whoever you want to be. 

Do you dress for yourself or for others (ie: your man or work)?

- definitely myself. 

Do you have any beauty or fashion tips you’d like to share? 

- wash your face twice a day, wear sunscreen and a little makeup makes a big difference

How has your personal style changed over the years? 

- I wear more neutral colours now. Almost every outfit is baggy on top, tight on bottom OR tight on bottom, baggy on top. 

What do you think about the way men/women dress in this city?

- I wish it was more like Paris, where women bike in heels and men wear cashmere scarves and leather shoes. Fashion is such a large part of their lifestyle. I wish Vancouver was more like that. 

Have you ever felt pressured to look a certain way? Why? What did you do about it? 

- Only when I was really young. Now, so many of my friends would never wear what I wear and I am completely okay with that. 

Do you think fashion and trends are affected by media? Is this a good thing? 

- No. Its the opposite. Fashion affects media and then the media takes their spin on it and affects society. 

What do you think about the Yoga craze in Vancouver? Would we ever find you out for lunch in yoga pants? 

-Love the exercise but I cant stand to see everyone in the same yoga pants and lulu sweaters on the streets. Its not original, its too easy. I don’t know why someone would want to look like everyone else. So no, you would never find me out for lunch in yoga pants. 

How would you describe your city’s style? 

-I’d say Vancouver’s style is a work in progress. 

How would you describe your style? 

-Feminine, Parisian with a little grunge

What’s your favorite accessory? 

- Shoes and my daily jewelry (rings, watch, orange bangle)

This is one of my classic go-tos. I felt like I should get it out of my system early on in this challenge. 

30 Day Hairstyle Challenge

I am bored of my hair always looking the same so to resist the impulse to get bangs or going completely Lohan and dying it blonde, I have decided to go on a 30 day hairstyle challenge. I hereby state each day from today onward, for the next 30 days, I will style my hair in a new way. I am not sure if I even know 30 hairstyles…the last week may get weird. Here is look number one.
